Frequently asked questions
What does ReadMe cost?
Trying it costs nothing and needs no sign-up: you create a story and read it yourself. For classroom use, meaning distribution to your class, longer stories and the full statistics, there are paid plans. Try first, decide later.
Do my students need an account?
Not for reading. You share a story by QR code or email and your students start reading right away, with no install. For trying ReadMe out that is the fastest way. For ongoing work it is better when everyone registers: signed-in users can use the app on several devices, and working together in class goes more smoothly.
Where is our data stored?
Personal data, meaning names, student profiles and learning progress, is stored exclusively at Hetzner in Germany. AI providers receive only anonymous creative instructions such as topic, genre, age group and language level, never personal data. Our data processing overview lists every provider and what it processes.
Is ReadMe GDPR compliant?
We have concluded data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with every provider that processes personal data. Product data is held on servers in Germany, and AI providers receive no personal data. Our legal texts are maintained by IT-Recht Kanzlei.
